Ashiatsu Massage
in Asheville

Ashiatsu massage, or barefoot massage, is a distinctive therapy technique where the therapist employs their feet, along with their hands and body weight, to deliver deep pressure.

How it works

This method effectively targets deeper muscle layers, resulting in a more comprehensive therapeutic experience. The use of feet provides enhanced leverage, allowing for deeper pressure penetration than traditional hand massage. Additionally, this technique covers larger areas of the body more efficiently, ensuring effective treatment. The rhythmic and flowing movements contribute to profound relaxation, facilitating significant stress relief.

Questions

What kinds of massage do you offer?

Deep tissue, Swedish, sports, hot stone, ashiatsu, and prenatal massage.

Can massage help with chronic pain?

Massage and bodywork can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure. It’s also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety, and create an overall sense of well-being.

How should I prepare for my first treatment?

Before your appointment, tell Asheville Massage and Wellness about any health problems you’re experiencing and any medications you’re taking. If you’re under a doctor’s care, we strongly advise getting a written recommendation for massage or bodywork before your session. Depending on the condition, approval from your doctor may be required.

How far in advance do I need to cancel?

Asheville Massage and Wellness needs 24 hours’ advance notice to cancel an appointment. Cancel at least 24 hours ahead and you get a full refund. With less than 24 hours’ notice, you’ll be charged the full amount of the appointment. No-shows are charged the full amount as well.

What happens if I show up late?

If you arrive late, your session may be shortened so the client booked after you still starts on time. Your therapist will decide whether enough time remains to start a treatment. You’re responsible for the cost of the full session no matter how long the treatment actually runs.

Do you accept insurance or HRA payments?

We provide itemized receipts for insurance reimbursement and accept HRA (Health Reimbursement Arrangement) payments for eligible services.

Gift cards can be used toward any massage, facial, or spa package, and are delivered digitally.
